Seriously YAY! This tag turned out SO WELL. Our Women Empowerment Tag asked five questions that made you think of all the wonderful impact women have on our society. Our BLOG GOALS for November include:
- Re-branding our Instagram. Which is starting to take place now and it is looking gooooood and we are HYPE!
- Pre-scheduling posts for the week. Blogtober kicked our asses a little and we are seriously excited to be able to spend November re-promoting some of our past posts that could use some more love! And it feels SO GOOD to have time to think about our social media and promotion and focus more on our new pieces we want to create!
- Start looking into 2019. Since we’ve started this blog we have kinda just been rolling. It’s time for us to chat about where this is going and how we want to get there.🤗
- Sponsored post. We didn’t achieve this in October, so we are going to keep it on the list.
So, what about our personal goals?
Sometimes my goals are just a little off from my life. I feel like I had a rather productive October but I didn’t accomplish too many of my goals. Mila and I had some very nice strolls! I actually ruminated less which is incredible. I have been very good about focusing my attention on other, productive things when I am feeling low.
I signed up for health benefits at work, which like makes me an adult now… EW. I have been looking into phone plans, but then my dad went and put the family on an unlimited data plan. So, if he still thinks he is getting rid of me at the end of the year, he’s got another thing coming. (I certainly hope he is reading this!😉)
“Don’t buy anything big. Save $$”
Well there is good news and bad news. I did not buy anything big.
BUT, I still don’t know where my money is… So I guess new goal is “Don’t Buy ANYTHING?!”
As for November,
I’m going to keep my goals pretty low key!
I am heading home for Thanksgiving on the 21st and I am so ready! My goal is to EAT TOO MUCH!!
Another goal is to get my life organized a little more than it currently is. I think it is going to help a bunch to start scheduling out our blog better and farther into the future. And I am going to keep researching and wrapping my head around what I want to be when I grow up, lol! 😄
I am happy to report I did everything on my list but take Basil on a date (unless you count a long walk in the usual ‘hood) and finish that damn self-help book.
I don’t know about you guys, but the only time I have to read is at night. And reading is a great segway to sleep. So, I end up getting a lot of sleep done but not a lot of reading… (:
I’ve been working out like a crazy person, which has really helped with my anxiety and I’m thrilled to say I have not had any issues connecting with my crazy before she appears.
I saved money according to this chart (so weeks 1-4 are completed), I ate consciously and bought mostly organic, and I went to a new fitness class (FOR FREE!) to sweat my booty off. I’m proud of my October goal completion! Let’s hope I can keep the ball rolling in November!
For this month, I want to keep on the workout train.
I also want to get up earlier and actually put myself together for my normally very casual job. Now that I am feeling better due to exercise, I want my outsides to match because it makes me feel good.
Lately I’ve been going down the rabbit hole of Youtube watching cooking channels and I think,
“Wow that looks for pretty/interesting/delicious/fun. I wish I could do that.”
Why the hell can’t I?! #watchme. So, I want to cook something new this month while also trying to cut down on dairy (I love cheese). I want to finish one pencil drawing, unplug from the social media world for a day, do something that normally I wouldn’t, and learn to crochet or knit! It sounds like it’s going to be a busy month, but if last month is any indication I should be able to knock this out of the park!
The cheese might be the hardest part.
Oh October, you were a pain in my ass. This month just flew right past me without permission or explanation. I will say, I did decently on my goals this month, but I could have done better.
I started waking up 30 minutes earlier than I needed to before work and slowly stretched this time to an hour. There were still days where I hit the snooze button. But, for the most part, it was nice to wake up, enjoy a cup of coffee and not stress. I did stretch every morning when I woke up (thanks to waking up earlier!) and I notice a difference.
This is hard to admit since I was a cheerleader, but I can finally touch my toes again!
I left my phone at home for one whole day. Honestly, this one gave me anxiety. I constantly thought there was an emergency I was missing or I was going to get lost and not be able to get home. I think limiting my phone is better suited for me than leaving it entirely.
Corey and I did start planning our trip to Paris (!!!!!) We’re nowhere near done with planning but we etched out a few details. Now we just need to book everything!
Anyone have any suggestions for our trip?!
I unfortunately did not learn how to install my crochet braids (someone send help), learn one song on the guitar, or write in my bullet journal every week. But, this is progress my friends!
My November goals are pretty simplistic, and I’ve learned not to demand so much from myself with my busy schedule.
I still want to break out my guitar, slowly but surely. I want to start being more health conscious – so I’ve decided to oil pull every morning with coconut oil and also cut back on my sugar intake. I want to partake in more self-care activities such as taking myself on a date to the movie theater and also finishing one book. I modified my phone goal from last month and have decided to cut out all electronics at least an hour before bed. Hopefully I won’t be so restless at night.
I also want to be more aware of my surroundings, so I’ve decided to be extra perceptive to details and the scenery around me.
I’ll let you know if I get punched in the face for staring at people for too long. Us New Yorkers have a very short fuse after all.
Last but not least, I refuse to wait until the last minute to spend a f*** ton of money on Christmas gifts. I’m going to space them out.
